Jeff Spurlock is a Vice President with Houlihan Smith & Company, Inc. Mr. Spurlock is a team leader of the firm’s Investment Management and financial advisory groups. Mr. Spurlock has worked on numerous client engagements with investment managers employing a wide array of strategies, working on issues related to M&A transactions, raising additional assets under management, valuation of Level III portfolio securities, rendering financial opinions, and the liquidation of illiquid portfolio investments during distressed situations. In addition, Mr. Spurlock leads the firm’s financial advisory practice providing financial opinions including valuations, fairness opinions, and structured finance advisory to public and private companies.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Spurlock worked in the corporate financial planning and analysis group at W.W. Grainger, Inc., a Fortune 400 industrial supplier. While supporting the company's supply chain operations, he evaluated a broad array of capital investment proposals by modeling the projected impact on the distribution network's processes and profitability. Prior to Grainger, Mr. Spurlock spent three years in corporate accounting at Parker Hannifin, a Fortune 300 manufacturer of motion and control technologies. Mr. Spurlock spent the majority of his time within the company's Thermoplastics division implementing various process improvements to the financial closing, reporting and planning processes across three business units.
Mr. Spurlock is a graduate of the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, where he earned a B.S. with concentrations in Finance and Business Process Management. In addition, he has earned the designation of Certified Management Accountant. Mr. Spurlock is a member of the Managed Funds Association and a CFA Level III candidate.
